I’m Juan (he/they) 🏳️‍🌈, a web engineer from Colombia 🇨🇴, living in Bogotá. I’ve spent more than ten years building for the web, mostly around Shopify, and I love making great experiences on the web. I care about sustainable innovation in tech.

• 2014 · Graduated in electronics engineering, and started freelancing.
• 2016–2023 · Built apps for the Shopify App Store at Pasilobus, eventually as Head of Engineering. Mentored interns and took part in conferences and expos.
• 2023–now · Senior Web Engineer at SLTWTR, a prominent Shopify Partner, working fully remote. I lead several teams, crafting Shopify Plus stores with bespoke features for our clients.

Along the way, I’ve worked on improving our developer workflows and helped organize local meetups.

Outside of work, I give back through Rotary International. I’m a homebody at heart: learning Japanese, setting up a home server, playing retro games like Pokémon, and spending time with my loved ones.
